Climate Change and Food Security

This is a project of the Climate Emergency Institute.

The purpose of this site is to discuss the impact of global climate change on food security.

Food security is the most crucial and most important of all climate change impacts.
This site aims to fill a gap in the global warming and climate change information - already committed (locked in) global warming is an emergency for all of us. .
It has been known since the 1995 IPCC assessment that Africa and low latitude regions - regions experiencing near the limit of heat tolerance to crops- would be the  most  vulnerable to global climate change.

However we are now all vulnerable, because the subsequent research has provided increasing evidence that above at at warming of 1.5° C from pre-industrial crop yields in all the main food producing regions will be negatively affected.
